What is Quality Management?

Quality is a mind-set that goes through all hierarchies of the organisation. The ISO 9000:2015 and ISO 9001:2015 standards are based on seven quality management principles. According to ISO, the seven quality management principles are, in no particular order:

  • Improvement
  • Evidence-based Decision Making
  • Relationship Management

To transform these principles into the project management environment requires high focus on

  • Quality Assurance to avoid quality mistakes and costs of quality before any work will be executed or finished

  • Quality Control to ensure that any works in engineering/design, procurement or on a construction or manufacturing sites will be executed according to project specifications and standards aligned with proper documentation
