Constructibility Review

What is Constructibility Review? Constructibility review is an ongoing process to enable that the right engineering deliverables will be completed supporting the required construction sequence in a timely manner. This we also call construction-driven engineering. In order to do a constructibility review, construction experts or trade specialists need to get involved during the engineering design […]

Project Site’s Life Saving Rules

A Construction Site bears hazards on many kinds. The fundamental basic rule is to avoid fatatlities, injuries, accidents. GS & Alliance Partners promote and implement 12 Life Saving Rules, because some of them can mean literally the difference between life and death. Workplace safety on a construction site is not only a term it is the license to construct.

DPGS & Alliance Partners invite you to speak to us about the life saving rules implementation, training, and the associates behaviour safety observations.

Policies & Procedures for Project Execution

Work Packs

Work Packs play a crucial role in streamlining processes from conception to operations, simplifying complex tasks throughout the project lifecycle.

The term Work Pack (WP) holds significant recognition in the construction industry, evolving to meet diverse needs arising from various construction activities. It functions as a fundamental tool for breaking down all aspects of a Construction Project, Pre-Commissioning, and Commissioning into well-defined, manageable instructions. These instructions are designed to be executed, budgeted, measured, and controlled per identified subsystem.

Key Points:

  • Work Packs serve as an essential component for the sequential handover process from construction to pre-commissioning and commissioning. Their completion and proper sign-off by responsible persons are critical for project success.
  • While traditionally the management of work packs was a manual process, the implementation of completions software has transformed and automated this process, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.

Detailed Features:

  • Work Packs are individually tailored for each discipline within a system or subsystem as determined by the project.
  • They encompass descriptions of specific tasks, detailed instructions, and documentation on how to complete each job. This includes related drawings, defining roles and responsibilities, and outlining safety requirements and inspection procedures.

Integrated within Completion Tools, Work Packs represent a shift towards automated, streamlined processes, ensuring precision and consistency in project execution.

CO2 recovery (upstream) and CO2 liquefction (downstream) are  key technologies for which DPGS & Alliance Partners provide technical consultation and solutions. Here some key elements:

CO2 Recovery:

CO2 content in Off-gases:

The range of CO2 concentration in off gases varies, but for economical retrieval, concentrations typically above 5% are targeted.

Chemical Solutions:

Amine Solutions: Typically, alkanolamines like monoethanolamine (MEA), diethanolamine (DEA), or others are used to absorb CO2 from gas streams.

Potassium Carbonate: Applied in certain processes, it reacts with CO2 to form potassium bicarbonate.

Equipment for CO2 Recovery:

Scrubbers: Vessels or towers where the absorption of CO2 takes place. They contain the absorbent solution (such as amine solution) that captures CO2 from the off gases

Absorption Towers/Columns: Used for the contact between the gas and the solvent (amine solution).

Strippers: Separate the absorbed CO2 from the solvent.

Heat Exchangers: Used to regulate temperature in the absorption and desorption processes.

Compressors: Increase pressure for the transportation and storage of captured CO2.

CO2 Liquefaction:

We usually deal with cryogenic liquefaction, membrane separation & compression and supercritical fluid extraction. Key equipment iare liquefaction units, heat exchangers, expansion valves, storage tanks and others.

Our considerations for the technology selection are energy efficiency, scal and capacity plus required purity standards.

Some Example References:
